Jesus Is the Way, the Truth & the Life

He Is Lord of All — Not Just Your Quiet Time

Lately I have been reflecting on how Jesus is the WAY, and how that translates to my daily life. I don't know about you, but sometimes the peace and wonder I feel when I spend my morning time with Him, quickly fades when I start with the hustle & bustle of work, home and kids.

But He wants to guide me and lead me in all of life — not just my quiet time. He is Lord of all, and my Shepherd all day long.

What Does It Mean to Acknowledge Him?

Proverbs 3:6 says: “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

The word “acknowledge” is translated from the Hebrew word yada — and it actually means “knowing”: a very real, deep, relational, and intimate knowing. Not just a nod of the head and a hello in passing (as we might take the word “acknowledge” to mean in our world).

For example, in Genesis 4:1: “Adam knew (yada) Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain...” That is pretty intimate.

He Is Waiting to Direct Your Paths

Jesus wants us to know Him intimately and walk with Him, every day. He is right there, in every decision we make — waiting to be known, and waiting to direct our paths. To BE THE WAY for us.

A Pause Before You Plow Ahead

Today, before just plowing ahead with your day, won’t you pause and bring your cares and worries before Him — as you would a friend right next to you (because He is!)? Be quiet for a few moments, ask Him to speak, and then listen as He starts directing your paths.
